PETROCOM
Floating Storage and Offloading Vessel

The Petrocom set an industry record in 2003 when she was upgraded from a trading tanker to a floating storage unit in just over 100 days from the date of signing of the letter of intent.

The project work scope called for the supply, conversion, operation and maintenance of an FSO for initial continuous ship to ship transfer operations. In addition to the FSO, we were also contracted to provide a 16-inch, 250-metre floating hose, a 6-point mooring system, shuttle tankers and tugboats.

The conversion candidate, MV Seaborne, was drydocked, inspected, refloated and fitted with new tandem offloading equipment, meter skid, crane, laboratory and other equipment required for the project. The entire conversion project was completed within budget and seven days ahead of schedule.

The 600,000-barrel FSO Petrocom was deployed over PetroChina's Jabung oilfield in Indonesia on a 3-year contract from March 2003 to March 2006.

Current Status:
In 3Q 2007, the Petrocom was sucessfully sold. FSO-related equipment were removed from the Petrocom before the sale, including the meterskid, 16" floating hoses, fenders, lifeboats and personnel crane amongst others. These equipment are currently in storage and can be made available to interested parties.
